HACKETSTOWN’S Molly Scott has been named on the Irish team to compete at the World Athletics Relays Silesia21 in Poland on the first two days of May.

“I am delighted to have made the Irish squad. Myself and my mam (coach Deirdre Scott) have worked diligently to get to this point. It is a great honour to represent Ireland. Between training for the World Athletics Relays and completing the final year of my Law Degree, at the Institute of Technology Carlow, there is a busy and exciting few weeks ahead.”

Molly, a member of the St Laurence O’Toole club and coached by her mother Deirdre, is named on the 4×100 metre squad along with Joan Healy, Sarah Lavin, Sarah Quinn, Kate Doherty and Niamh Whelan.

A top 8 finish at the World Athletics Relays Silesia21 for the squad guarantees Olympic qualification.  A top 10 finish in the Women’s 4x100m at this event would ensure qualification for the World Athletics Championships Oregon 2022.

We are very proud of Molly here in Hacketstown and wish here every success in her future athletics career. You can follow Molly on her Instagram account @mollyeviescott to keep updated on her future adventures.
