We are delighted to invite you to our exhibition evening for The Long and Short of It on Friday, 7th October from 5-7pm at St John’s Hall, Hacketstown.
The Long and Short of It brings together older community members (65+) in Hacketstown, Rathvilly, Myshall and Graiguecullen. In each area, throughout seven-weeks of workshops, participants devise and create four animated stories inspired by their community’s personal stories and collective memories.
The Long and Short of It is funded by Creative Ireland’s Creativity in Older Age Fund and delivered in partnership with Carlow Arts Office and Carlow County Development Partnership.
In Hacketstown, the participants have recorded audio and created paper cuts from a script written about their memories of coming together for the harvest. Bringing all this together, we have made a short animation called The Harvest that will be exhibited along with the paper cuts and script in St John’s Hall, Hacketstown from 5-7pm. Refreshments and treats will be available.
